Why asking out crushes is Hard
It's so easy to tell your close friends and others to just ask out their crushes. In reality, undertaking such a bold risk move is tantamount to almost denting your soul. Why it's so difficult to ask your crush is something even science could completely explain.
Saying ask your crush out is even harder than telling people:
So just get a job, when you find them unemployed.
So just lose some weight, when you see the fat.
So just stop procrastinating, when they don't meet a deadline.
So just end the relationship, when they're in a bad one.
So just make more money, when maybe their salary isn't enough.
So just get better grades, when they aren't doing excellent in school.
You don’t get it, my friend.
These things are easy to say. Particularly when we aren’t talking to ourselves.
Matters of love are complicated. There are variables tied to our most deep human vulnerabilities.
What exactly do you fear about asking someone out?
Fear of rejection feeds deep into our core sense of worth and value.
Rejection is terrifying. It hurts. You fear that maybe you're not worth that person's attention. This, despite knowing that you have some commonalities with that person like playing an instrument, watching sports or hiking or similar music taste.
Or maybe you start feeling like you would end up embarrassing yourself, like showing a weird personal trait which can turn off your love interest. Because the situation is normally uncomfortable for both parties and awkwardness is created in the beginning.
Maybe you feel that you ain't pretty or handsome enough. Us, humans, always care about appearance but, hey, no one expects you top models' standards. Could be you aren't comfortable about what others think about your dress code, grooming styles. Keep and have your own style, but forget not common sense. Don't go with your sandals to the party or dinner. Know where the normal standards are and keep them.
Maybe you think your crush is too much for you. You think they are above human level and can satisfy all your expectations. You're dead wrong. We are all human and equal. And the worst that could happen is a "no", which you already had before you asked your crush out.
This is life. It’s simple but it’s not. You gotta feel things out. It’s a grey maze. Not a black and white tennis court.
I think what is so hard about asking someone out is all of the forethought, planning, anticipation, and scenarios you run through your mind before doing the actual asking. It puts you an immense pressure and you may develop cold feet in the last minute.
What should you Do?
Develop and boost your self-confidence. If you have low self-esteem you might start not trusting yourself and in the process initiating a conversation with a stranger or a friend you like can be hard stuff.
Drop off that extremely shy personality. It's what's holding you back from many things in life. Be open and bold when interacting with people. Flatly ask out your crush while wearing a beautiful bold smile.
